Airlines of Paraparaumu
Several airlines have operated flights to and from Paraparaumu since 1947 including NAC, Safe Air, Air Nelson and more recently, Sounds Air and Air Chathams.

Flight Training at Paraparaumu
A number of organisations have provided flight training at Paraparaumu since 1958 and while most of these have now ceased to operate, the Kapiti Aero Club established in 1983 is still in operation today.

Calibration Flight (Cal Flight) Fokker F27
The Calibration Flight of the Ministry of Transport’s Civil Aviation Division was established at Paraparaumu in 1947 and had the task of flight checking NZ’s navigation aids. This role continued until its work was transferred to the Airways Corporation of NZ (ACNZ) in 1988.

Kapiti Aero Club
The Kapiti Aero Club, (known as the Kapiti Districts Aero Club until 2025) was established in 1983, and remains very active today. A number of pilots who trained at the aero club have gone on to successful careers with airlines such as Air NZ.
